Mission Statement
At Cascadia Arts and Healing Center, we provide expressive arts experiences that cultivate our connection with individuals, communities, and the web of nature. While nourishing peoples’ capacity for creative expression, we dedicate ourselves to life-sustaining values. These include mindfulness, humility, and deep compassion for all beings—human and other-than-human. Through honest, creative self-expression, we come to honor our authentic, healthy, and fully human selves.
What We Do
We provide a range of arts-based ecological experiences and activities for individuals seeking to deepen, enhance, and re-invigorate their sense of connectedness to nature. These include workshops, seminars, consultations, and resources for individuals, groups, and organizations.
Principles
- We value the primacy of experience or felt meaning in human existence.
- We value the embodied nature of our experiencing.
- We value the primacy of the relational or interactive framework as a way of opening up satisfying new avenues of understanding.
- We value laughter as part of the human experience and honor its role in the healing process.
- We value the importance of working through grief and suffering that we experience when our human nature is violated.
- We value the creative process as a way of upholding our connection to the sacred web of life.
